Incidents tell your customers what's going on and keep a timeline for your team.
Automatic incidents
When a monitor goes down, Uplance opens an incident by itself (you can turn this off under Settings). It captures evidence from the moment it started: DNS answers, the TLS certificate chain and a traceroute. When the monitor recovers, the incident resolves.
Writing updates
Open the incident and post an update with a status (investigating, identified, monitoring, resolved) and a message. Updates appear on the status page and can be sent to your alert channels. Templates help with common situations.
Who's on it
Alert messages have an I'm on it link (and a button in Discord). Pressing it tells everyone someone is handling the outage and stops escalation.
Post-mortems
When an incident is resolved, write down the root cause and what you changed. Uplance prepares a draft from the timeline, and from the Discord incident thread if you use one. Published post-mortems appear on the incident's public page.
Discord incident rooms
With your own Discord bot and an incident channel chosen in Settings, every automatic incident gets a thread. Post public updates from there with /update message:… or !update ….
