Connect your own Discord bot for alerts with buttons, /status and /update commands, incident threads, a self-updating status message and a voice channel that shows your status in its name. Plain Discord channel webhooks work without a bot.
Create the bot
- Open the Discord Developer Portal and create an application.
- Under Bot, turn on the Presence, Server Members and Message Content intents (needed for bot-presence monitors and
!update), then press Reset Token and copy the token. - Under General Information, copy the Application ID and Public Key.
Connect it
- In Uplance, go to Settings → Discord and paste the application ID, public key and token. Uplance checks with Discord that they belong together before saving; the token is stored encrypted and never shown again.
- Press Invite the bot to your server. You need the Manage Server permission there.
- Reload and pick the server. If the bot is in exactly one server, it's connected right away.
- Uplance sets the bot's Interactions Endpoint URL for you. If Discord can't reach the server yet, copy the URL shown into General Information yourself.
Then choose channels under Settings → Status page & alerts, add a Discord bot alert channel under Webhooks, and press .
