SSL certificate checker
Uplance opens a real TLS connection and reads the certificate the server actually sends — chain included.
Common questions
- What does “not trusted” mean here?
- The chain didn't validate the way a browser validates it, and the reason is shown: expired, self-signed, or issued for a different name. The certificate is still described so you can see what's wrong with it.
- Why is the expiry date different from what my registrar shows?
- A certificate and a domain expire independently. This reads the certificate presented on port 443; your registrar is telling you about the domain registration.
- Can it check a certificate on another port?
- Yes — add the port, like mail.example.com:465. Anything that finishes a TLS handshake can be read this way.
